Canada’s silverplate buyers. We buy the sets nobody else will.
Tea services, trays, flatware chests, whole estate boxes: the heavy silverplate other buyers turn away is exactly what we want, and sterling, coins and gold are welcome in the same box (sterling, coins and gold are quoted in writing first). Ship it to our Ontario facility and be paid at published prices within 4 business days of arrival, with an itemized receipt showing every category, every weight, every dollar.

Not sure what you have, or what it is worth?
Read the mark, make your piles, put them on a scale. Our calculator prices your weights at the same published rates you see on this page, and it asks you for nothing at all: no email address, no sign-up, no phone number.
How it works
Four steps. The rates are published before you ship, and the receipt shows every dollar.
-
Request your shipping label
Tell us your box sizes and we email you a discounted shipping label. Our commercial rate is well below counter prices, and the label cost simply comes off your payment. Your own carrier works too: address the parcel to Silver Plate Canada, 2687 Slough St, Mississauga, ON L4T 1G2.
-
Pack your box and ship it
Pack your own box, tape the label on, and drop it at any courier drop-off, or ask us to arrange collection. Add insurance at the counter if you wish. Unsure about a piece? Email photos to contact@silverplatecanada.ca first and we will tell you honestly what to send and what to keep.
-
We open it on camera
Every parcel is opened and documented on continuous video the moment it arrives, then sorted by material and weighed. Sterling and coins are tested with XRF, on camera.
-
Paid at the published rates
Within 4 business days of arrival, your payment goes out with an itemized receipt: every category, every weight, every rate, every dollar. Sterling silver, gold, dental gold, bullion and silver coins are quoted in writing first.
Prefer to drop it off? Come to Mississauga.
You do not have to mail anything. Silverplate, sterling, coins and whole estate boxes can be brought to our Mississauga location in person, and everything after that is identical to the mail-in service: the same published prices, the same on-camera processing, the same itemized receipt showing every category, every weight, every dollar.
Book a time and a team member will be waiting for you. It takes a few taps: what you are bringing, a day, a time. If you would rather not use the form, email contact@silverplatecanada.ca or call (416) 799-7528 and we will book it for you.
Bringing a large load? Antique dealers, pawn shops, auctioneers and estate liquidators move hundreds of pounds of plate at a time. The booking form asks roughly how much is coming, so we can have help and a pallet jack ready. Dealer and recycler terms →

What we buy
Silverplate is why we exist: the bulky, heavy sets nobody else will touch. Sterling, coins and whole estate boxes ride along in the same box: published categories are paid at their posted prices, and sterling and coins are quoted in writing. Not sure about a piece? Email photos to contact@silverplatecanada.ca before you ship and we will tell you honestly what to send and what to keep.
Silverplate
EP, EPNS, hotel plate: the sets, trays and tea services every other Canadian buyer refuses in writing. We buy them by the pound at flat published prices, and holloware and knives have their own published prices too.
Flatware $10 per pound. Holloware $7, knives $3.50.
Sterling silver flatware
The most underpaid item in Canada. Send it in the same box as your plate; the flat price is published here.
Quoted in writing on request
Canadian silver coins
Pre-1967 dimes, quarters, halves and dollars, welcome in the same box, quoted in writing before anything is processed. Rare dates are priced in the quote, never melted.
Quoted in writing, approval always yours
Estate collections
Send the whole box. We sort it on camera and the receipt itemizes every category.
Each piece at its published rate or written quote
Who we are
Silver Plate Canada is operated from a working metals recycling facility in Mississauga, Ontario. Testing and recovering metal is what we do all day. The mail-in service brings that same equipment to your kitchen table.
“We started Silver Plate Canada because we kept seeing two things. Families are told their silverplate chest is worth nothing, when the truth is that nobody near them will take it. And the published mail-in rates for silver in Canada, where they exist at all, are far below what the metal is honestly worth. Both problems have the same fix: publish real rates, process every parcel on camera, and put every dollar on an itemized receipt.”
The three questions everyone asks first
Is this one of those cash-for-gold scams?
Fair question. This industry earned its reputation: the postcard operators of the 2000s paid sellers a small fraction of melt value and were shut down or shamed out of business. Here is what we do differently: our prices are published on this site as plain dollar figures, every parcel is opened and documented on camera, every payment comes with an itemized receipt you can check line by line, and if you email photos to contact@silverplatecanada.ca before you ship we will tell you honestly what not to send. More in the FAQ.
What if my parcel gets lost in the mail?
Our discounted shipping labels are tracked door to door, and you can add declared-value coverage if you wish. If you ship with your own carrier, choose a tracked service and address the parcel to Silver Plate Canada, 2687 Slough St, Mississauga, ON L4T 1G2. If a tracked parcel goes missing in transit, the carrier's claim process applies; from the moment a parcel reaches us, it is on continuous video. Details on the security page.
Can I get my items back after I ship them?
Yes. If you change your mind, we return your items by tracked courier at your shipping cost, and we tell you that exact cost in writing before anything ships back. Every purchase is held intact, not melted, for 30 clear days, so there is a real window to change your mind after your receipt arrives. Deciding before you ship is still cheaper, because return postage is yours: email photos to contact@silverplatecanada.ca first and we will tell you plainly what is worth sending. Sterling silver, gold, dental gold, bullion and silver coins are not processed at all until you approve a written quote.
Know the rates. Pack the box. Get paid.
The form takes a minute. Your discounted label arrives by email, and it is fine if the box sits in the hall for a while before you ship.
