Gold and silver coins and bullion, quoted in writing

Maple Leafs, recognized bars and rounds, older gold coinage. Bullion is quoted individually against the live market, in writing, and nothing is processed until you approve the quote. Call before you ship and we sort the details with you.

What counts as recognized bullion

  • Royal Canadian Mint: Gold and Silver Maple Leafs, RCM bars and wafers.
  • Recognized sovereign mints: American Eagles and Buffalos, Britannias, Krugerrands, Philharmonics, Kangaroos and similar.
  • Recognized refiners: name-brand bars and rounds from the major refiners.
  • Older gold coinage: sovereigns, francs, US pre-1933 gold. Quoted on metal content, with collectible dates called out in your written quote.

Generic or unmarked bars and rounds are still bought; they simply get verified first (weight, dimensions, specific gravity, XRF) and quoted on tested content.

Before you ship bullion, read this

Bullion lots deserve a conversation before anything moves: how to ship, what coverage to add at the counter, and how the written quote will work. This is also a carrier rules issue: raw bullion, dust and unmanufactured metal have special mailability restrictions, while manufactured coins and jewellery mail normally. One message or one call sorts your exact situation.

  • Leave coins in their capsules or tubes. Do not clean or polish bullion coins; cleaning can hurt any collectible premium.
  • Graded and sealed slabs: we do not buy sealed "collectible" slabs we cannot test unless we agree on the piece in advance. Call first.
  • Certificates and receipts from the original purchase speed verification; include copies if you have them.

Why quote instead of a published rate?

Honest answer: bullion trades close to spot and moves by the minute, so a fair bullion number belongs in a written quote against the live market on the day we test, not in a static grid. Your quote is itemized piece by piece, you approve it before anything is processed, and if a Canadian online buyer puts a better number in writing, show us.
